Airport Procedure Aid

I created this Airport Procedure Aid using Canva as a quick reference companion to the Piloting Petaluma Course. I designed this aid to contain some of the information from the course regarding navigating the traffic pattern including radio frequencies, a visual aid on where to make certain turns, traffic pattern altitude, and reminders to announce position on each leg and actively look for traffic.

Part of my design philosophy for this aid was to create it in such a way that it would be useful for pilots who are actively flying, not just as a study tool on the ground. I minimized the text and all text is highlighted in yellow to make it easy for pilots to glance at when they are flying. I also recreated the traffic pattern visually so pilots can quickly orient themselves to each turn
